President Paul Kagame attends AU-EU summit 2017 in Abidjan

President Paul Kagame was highly welcomed by his colleague Alassane Ouattara of Ivory coast at Felix-Houphouet-Boigny.

HE Paul Kagame has attended 3 of the 5 AU-EU summits and this summit is under the theme’ ’investing in youth for a sustainable future’’ African and European heads of state have gathered to strengthen political and social affairs between the two continents emphasizing much on how t empower the youth.

This is because 60% of the African population are the youth under 25 years of age.

The two organization have been having a great partnership where the EU has been giving funds to AU in the past years. In 2016, EU gave £21 billion to help in the development.
£32 billion have been invested in Africa by investment companies in 2015 which totaled a third of the total investment by countries outside this continent.

Other headlines for this summit to discuss are peace and security, good governance(democracy), human rights, population migration control to Europe, trade and investment not leaving entrepreneurship aside.
